Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. But for a person from Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and family members, they had innate talents. Maureen was born in Ranelagh - a suburb of Dublin in Ireland on 17 August 1920. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland and ran an Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons' is the 2nd FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was an athletic natural and enjoyed playing tough sporting games. In addition to this, she had a gift for acting. She was awarded nearly every Feis Award for Theater and Drama the country could provide. As she reached the age of 14 the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dream in classical theater and opera singing.
