When the A&E Network initially produced "Storage Wars", they had tried to entice Casey Nezhoda as well as her husband. However, due to insufficient time, they decided to turn down the offer, as Casey was taking care of her baby as Rene was working on their company. After the third season they were offered a second chance to be actors who appeared on the show regularly. They acted as buyers in the initial six episodes, and later became the principal actors in the second season.
